Markel Steverson came to genealogy the way many of us do — through questions that refused to let go. Inspired by the deep research done on her Louisiana Cane River family line, she set out to uncover that same level of detail across her other branches.
Her work has since expanded beyond familiar records into a broader range of sources that help reconstruct family connections. Along the way, she discovered strategies that transformed her approach — including a pivotal visit to the SAGHS library that opened new paths for investigation.

Join Markel as she shares how inspiration turned into method, and how moving beyond the most commonly used records can reveal a richer, more complete family story.

Open to members and non-members alike.
No cost, however donations are accepted
